this human world stands for unconventional, sensual and astonishing films that emerge from most diverse artistic positions.Films that enable us to see the world from unusual perspectives. Films that tell stories of political turmoil, dedicated struggles for justice or personal fates, in a sensitive and vigilant manner and with powerful images.
What they all have in common is their attempt to evoke compassion in their viewers and thereby advocate against indifference and for interpersonal respect and individual freedom. The eclectic program comprises all film genres, whether it be feature, documentary, animation or short film, and thus offers the audience a rich diversity.
In addition, a multifaceted framework program makes up an integral part of the festival. Discussions, lectures, workshops and more, offer the possibility to deepen the festival’s topics - the audience is invited to get involved and to actively shape the discourse. Being positioned at the intersection of culture and socio-political challenges, this human world intends to create a forum that enables encounter, exchange and dialogue.
Focus: Every Time We Fuck We Win!
This program offers a view on porn films that show us something other than the usual mainstream hetero porn; that sensually celebrate feminine and queer-oriented sexualities and identities and reflect the diversity of sexual desire.
The porn productions presented here originate from a - sometimes more, sometimes less - queer feminist punk-context, show self-confidence, desire-oriented sexuality, question normative body images, and look for the subversive potential of pornography. An evening is dedicated to the American queen of queer porn, Courtney Trouble, and shows ftm porn star Billy Castro on a sex tour through San Francisco, femme on femme S&M scenes, solo bondage, and riot trans grrrls. In Much More Pussy! Émilie Jouvet takes us on a road trip through Europe with a group of queer-feminist performance artists whom we can ‘spy’ on having sex backstage. In her films Shutter and Want Some Oranges Goodyn Green shows us different bodies, different practices, and different erotic fantasies with a view that is both direct and respectful, and delicate and pleasurable at the same time. In Fucking Different XXX the perspectives are reversed when gay filmmakers make movies about lesbians and lesbian directors make films about gay men. In Best Slumber Party Ever and Queen Bee Empire by Samuel Shannahoy, we enjoy group sex garnished with colourful sweets and numerous queer punk references.
Every Time We Fuck We Win! is opened with a screening of Virginie Despente’s documentary Mutantes: Punk, Porn, Feminism, which is an international journey through the feminist pro-sex movement of the last three decades giving voice to many queer-feminist activists, theorists, sex workers, and performers.
Directors Émilie Jouvet and Goodyn Green will be guests at this human world and present their films.
Focus program curated by Zora Bachmann, Denice Bourbon and Mara Verlic.
