Matt is 31, works as a designer and lives in the 6th District in Vienna. Matt loves Buenos Aires, probably because he likes summer more than winter and can use his Spanish skills over there. However, we asked Matt to describe his perfect day in Vienna. Voilá: read it, be there!

GIV: Hi Matt, thanks for meeting us!

Matt: Nice to see you.

GIV: Matt would you tell us where you like to have breakfast?

Matt: I like to have breakfast together with my best friends. In the Halle you get a really great breakfast. Halle is the cafe-restaurant at the Kunsthalle Wien. The design of the cafe is minimalist and chic – stucco, huge ceiling lamps and walnut furniture. In the summer you should definitely sit on the terrace!

GIV: Now we are already in the Museum Quarter. Are you here often?

Matt: Yes, the Museum Quarter is a great place here in Vienna. Here are many different museums, with different exhilbitions. I prefer the Leopold Museum, for they show Klimt and Schiele. In the evening the MQ is great too, there are cool people, nice bars and you can sit arond on the Enzis.

GIV: Do you have a shopping tip for us?

Matt: I like to go shopping in the 7th District. Around the Mariahilferstraße there are small streets with nice shops, for example in the Neubaugasse, Lindengasse, Zollergasse. The Zapateria in the Kirchengasse is has great shoes. A lot of sneakers.

GIV: Do you have any favourite restaurants?

Matt: The Café Drechsler is quite nice, and they have a great paprika chicken. And other typical Viennese dishes. And it‛s is open on weekends almost around the clock. And I like the Restaurants at the Naschmarkt where you can eat asian or oriental. Or fish. There are a lot of tourists, but locals too. Less tourist but equally great is the Brunnenmarkt. The Restaurant Ando has delicious fish.

GIV: Coffee is duty on a perfect day in Vienna, right? Do you have a favorite Café?

Matt: The Orlando di Castello is a very chic café. And in winter, the Café Jelinek is a favourite. This is a traditional Viennese Café with a fireplace.

GIV: Do you like going out?

Matt: Yes, I like to go to the Dachboden of the 25 hours hotel. From the terrace you have a great view over Vienna. The bars at Topkino and Schikaneder are nice places too. At Pratersauna there is a good club, the FSK Pratersauna, where they play electro and house. For me this is the best club in Vienna. The Malefiz in Brut theatre is also a great event.

GIV: Do you tell us one last but not least hotspot?

Matt: Yes, the wurst stand at the corner Neubaugasse / Mariahilferstraße. You should have a Käskrainer there.

GIV: Thanks for your time, Matt!
