Sold out! Long queues formed at the gates of the 12th Diversity Ball in the Kursalon on Saturday evening. More than 2000 guests, among them numerous celebrities, accepted the invitation of ball mother Monika Haider and her team from equalizent and transformed the Kursalon into a shining symbol for lived tolerance in our society. “The Diversity Ball enables us to connect people across all borders. It does not count gender, age, religion or origin. It’s not what disability you have, not who you love - we celebrate an attitude to life: Everything can be, everything is possible,” says ball mother Monika Haider.
Monika Haider was dressed by “gabarage upcycling design”, an association that supports former addicts in their re-entry. Numerous well-known supporters of this idea were also present at the guest of honour reception in the early evening: Nestroy award winner Social City Councillor Peter Hacker (honorary protection), Life Ball organiser Gery Keszler, cabaret artist Christoph Fälbl, Charity Lady Yvonne Rueff, Nico Marchetti (ÖVP), the district directors Uschi Lichtenegger (Leopoldstadt) and Saya Ahmad (Alsergrund), WKW head of gastronomy Peter Dobcak, fashion designer Nhut La Hong, presenter and model Kimberly Budinsky, actor and theatre director Gerald Pichowetz, scene guru Mario Soldo andabove all.
